Rhythm and Flow

I have been writing the 'critical' aspects of this PhD, and have discovered Lefebvre's 'Rhythmanalysis', and thinking about how I can link my novel to this, particularly in the editing process. Of course, specifically, the movement of Guy through the landscape is important, but I have to try and not make this too point-and-click. So, I read this: https://lithub.com/how-kazuo-ishiguro-used-dream-techniques-to-write-his-most-polarizing-novel/ in which Ishiguro talks about how he keeps a 'dream box' of all his ideas that come from dreams. This isn't a new idea, of course, but I'd forgotten about it, and, by coincidence, have been having some pretty vivid dreams lately, which I think will help with this editing process, and link to the idea of rhythm and flow in the narrative. We'll see.
My supervisory meetings are leading me to think more about the natural environment - which, I suppose, figures when writing about landscape and place, or with a sensation of the two. It's taking me into 'Psychogeology', which, when I've written about Guy coming out of the sand and grit of the place, links well. I love that.
I think what I'm trying to do is link flow of ideas to rhythm of the place, and analyse how that might come out in Black Country writing. It feels like it's getting clearer.
